Ontario is the economic powerhouse behind Canada's manufacturing sector, and leading the way is southwestern Ontario. At the geographical center of southwestern Ontario is Strathroy-Caradoc. As of May 2019, 1.7 Million (9%) of the 19 million jobs in Canada were in the manufacturing industry. Of these 1.7 million manufacturing jobs, 770,000 (44%) were in Ontario.
