Labour Force

Strathroy-Caradoc has a strong labour force. Our unemployment rate is lower than the provincial and national average, as well as the closest census metropolitan area - London, Ontario - which has an unemployment rate of 7.3%. Most importantly, the participation rate of Strathroy-Caradoc (66.1) is higher than the regions of London (63.8), Ontairo (64.7) and Canada (65.2). Put differently, more eligible residents of Strathroy-Caradoc are participating in the labour force, and of those participating, a larger percent are able to find work.

Within the local economy, the major industries of employment are Manufacturing and Health Care, likely driven by the many large businesses in our industrial parks and the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.
